about our training programmes

Welcome to the advanced trainings section of Sonora, where we offer specialised courses and Continuous Professional Development events in various music therapy methods and techniques.

Our programmes are meticulously designed for arts and music therapists, healthcare and mental health professionals who wish to integrate music as a complementary tool in their practice. Some of our courses are also appropriate for educators, musicians, or other professionals offered as skill-sharing courses for those who wish to enrich their perspective about specialised uses of music in psychoeducational and psychosocial settings.

Occassionally, Sonora organises internationally recognised courses with invited experts from all over the world to cover special topics such as music therapy and neurology, music and pain management, music in perinatal care, etc.

Receptive Music Therapy accredited courses

Sonora is the sole certification body in Greece for receptive music therapy techniques based on the original method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). We offer full training in the GIM, full training in the simplified “Musicares” methods (Music and Imagery) and we are also the global representative of the innovative Music Breathing method. Sonora is an accredited institute of the European Association for Music and Imagery, adhering to their rigorous standards,  and our graduates have the opportunity to register as professional members of EAMI, and use the credentials of recognised GIM, Musicares (MI), or Music Breathing therapists.
