Ourania Liarmakopoulou (MA NMT-F)

Ourania Liarmakopoulou has a bachelor’s degree in music (Music Studies Department of Kapodistrian University of Athens), a master’s degree in music therapy ( University of Jyväskylä, Finland) and studies in flute (Munincipal Conservatory of Hellinikon) and violoncello (Synchrono Conservatory of Athens). She also studied ottoman classical music in the violoncello at the Department of Musicology of the Institute of Social Sciences of Istanbul Technical University.

She was trained in the Neurologic Music Therapy® method in Birmingham, (UK) and since then in relation to her continuing professional development as a NMT music therapist she has been attending workshops, seminars, symposiums, conferences and monthly supervisions. She has a certificate in MATADOC protocol from the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability of London and she is a trainee in the GIM method.

She works both as a musician and a music therapist. She teaches the flute in the Music School of Piraeus and collaborates with various groups and artists for live performances and recordings. As a music therapist she works with various clinical populations and ages (ASD, Parkinson's, dementia, ADHD, trauma, etc).

She is a member of the Greek Association of Professional Music Therapists and a member of the board of directors of Sonora.
